About a year ago I went to a professional to have a colonic treatment.  Ready to rid myself of the horrible goblins that eat away at my colon, I too decided to jump on the colon-cleansing band wagon. My first experience was with the Master Cleanse diet. It sounded easy enough....except I was working 16-hour days at a production company in Hollywood at the time. Armed with my bottle of the vomit-inducing concoction of maple syrup, lemon juice, and cayenne pepper, I was ready to take on the world. That lasted for about two days, until I started taking the laxative tea and sea salt. Yeah, it cleansed my colon alright, but I lost a little self-respect as well. No one should have to sit in their bathroom for two hours reading O Magazine before work and marveling at the hideous atrocities exiting their colon. After nearly passing out at work and coming mighty close to losing my job over my lack of communication skills, I quickly went back to filling my colon with parasites and being normal again.

I bought it for my boss, but apparently it was the wrong one, so I took it home and am awfully tempted to try it. It says to be next to the toilet for two days. If I gear up with a TV and some magazines in my bathroom, perhaps it can be done. We shall see where this goes.

My Colon. I guess like most people I never really gave much thought to my colon. After all it is one of those organs that does its job, does not give you many problems and well is just not really something you think about a good bit, most less talk about.

That all changed for me a few years ago. You see I got a phone call from a family member I had not heard from in quite a while. She was calling to inform me that her husband, my first cousin had just been diagnosed with colon cancer. She went onto explain that my extranged grandfather had died of colon cancer and several of my uncles and cousins had been treated for it as well. My own "colon adventures" are limited, but I don't mind sharing them. I have never had a lot of trouble with my digestive system, but I do believe in eating a lot of foods with high fiber content. One of my favorites is stove-popped popcorn, which is surprisingly full of fiber. By making it yourself in an old-fashioned popper you keep the fiber, something I find microwaved popcorn lacks. Of course I eat all the fresh fruits and vegetables and mulit-grain breads, pastas and whole grains I can stomach! Acai berry is a great product to try if you can afford it and don't get ripped off, but I can't swear that it's very effective.

I would advise doing your research for colon cleansers or get it prescribed by your doctor or colon hydro therapist. I had to take colace stool softeners after surgery, but these pills aren't harsh at all. Do not use laxatives to cleanse your colon because they can be addicting and keep your body from working naturally. Any colon cleansers that operate on the principle of containing high fiber are the best, because that is the natural thing to clean your system with. I think the best way to remove toxins is by doing a juice fast or whole raw food diet, but don't overdo it.

I find one of the simplest ways to stay regular is just by having a cup of coffee in the morning, and giving it time to do it's job! First-we must understand how to use it. Your supposed to take 4 capsules of this stuff in the evening on an empty stomach with a glass of water. If you don’t achieve 3-5 bowel movements (wait, were supposed to have that many a day?) the next day, then take 2 more until you achieve 3-5. Once you determine your effective dosage, this will count as day one of the 7 day plan. Maintain this dosage for 7 consecutive days.

Then take the maintenance as desired. If I wanted to have that many bowl movements at once, I’d just take an over the counter laxative. Just by reading how many I’m supposed to have a day turned me off. Please, I don’t like sitting on the toilet that long. That’s like…almost half the day sitting on the toilet, wasted. This product sounds like it would wipe out everything from your colon, including the good bacteria that lives in your colon and feeds off the waste your body makes, and this bacteria in some weird way, helps your colon function better. Which makes your body work better. I tired this product-given to me as a tester for free. I took it for 7 days like I was supposed it, and followed the directions closely.

Other than my normal bowl movements every 2-3 days, nothing happened. I got bloated, got some gas but that was it. Once I stopped taking it, the gas and bloated feeling went away. I tossed it in the garbage. At 40 bucks a bottle, it’s too expensive. If you really, really want your colon cleansed out, then eat some diabetic candy. That always cleans me out, heck after half a bag of diabetic candy I’m on the toilet 5-7 times a day with diarrhea for 2 ½ days straight. Or try some laxative. That will clean you out too. Both methods are far cheaper than this bottle of crap....I mean Oxypowder colon cleansing product.
